Yeah, it's rather large at the moment too! At the end of the day if we start saying non fiestas aren't welcome your going to upset a fair few people.

Re: FITP IDEA
dontpannic :To be honest, that sounds very passionford ish. This club has, for a very very long time been about the people, not the cars, and to come along and say that anything that isn't a turbo doesn't belong here is the same as passionfords "If it ain't an RS you can f**k off" ethos. As said in the show rules thread I reckon it should just be a first come first served layout and leave it at that, obviously with a line of turbos at the front if it was possible. If it became RS turbo's only the stand would only have 5 or 6 cars on it anyway!
I'm all for having turbos on the front of the stand to show what club we are, but "I reckon you guys should be a bit more strict with the cars you have on your stand this year." isn't the sort of club we are (unless I'm gravely mistaken.
I disagree with the ZSOC comment. Obviously it was planned well, but to be honest having them all lined up by colour was a little boring, considering 99% of them had the same modifications!
Craig - I really disagree with the last thing.
There's been no limit on how many tickets we order, therefore the turbo's that are on the stand actually wanted to be there so the "letting anything have a stand space when it could have been a turbo" comment, I don't see the point of. If a turbo could have been on the stand its up to the owner to buy a ticket.
I can't be the only one who's seeing just how passionford this thread sounds?
That man said it perfectly

Re: FITP IDEA
dontpannic - fair enough mate, i didn't realise there was no limit on tickets.
Just to clarify what i meant a little more - I didn't mean purely turbos or anything of the sort. i just meant primarily. Obviously any fiesta should have the chance, but i would personally look at the performance models. ie. RS/XR's etc. But i've nothing against the lesser models. It was just my opinion. They should still get a place as long as their worthy and not a shed.
As for passionfords "If it ain't an RS you can f**k off" ethos - don't tar me with that brush, as i'm nothing like that. Although it may sound like a contradiction to what i've said above, i couldn't care less if was an RS or not if it's got a nice spec.
And it can still be a community without a car on a stand. Communities are about people, not cars. But shows are more about the cars IMO. It's something to do as a community but you don't need to take your car to be a part of it. It's like me taking my 1.1 saxo to a vauxhall show because i'm mates with a few vauxhall owners.

No it isn't.
We will be allowing any Ford onto the stand, and the rules in the sticky will apply to everyone. Thats it really.

Re: FITP IDEA
S1 :Chris 2i :I should have worded my last post differently - it was more a general heads up of the rules laid down after last years farce than a genuine question
However some of the rules do need clarification;
- will the username signs for our windows be sent out with the tickets, or will we have to make our own?
- Point 3 states that:All users displaying cars on the FT stand must supply to Vix (or, in the case of FordFair this year, Lou & Ollie) their name, registration number and a contact mobile number which will allow them to be contacted on the day of the event.
now that's absolutely fine, but we'll need to make sure that people are doing this as there's no mention of it in the tickets thread.
With regard to the group photo idea, it is a good one imo - Point 4 of the rules does suggest that some sort of stand organisation could be possible, so lets see what happens on the day and decide if it's workable for the stand or not.
Lets not get hung up on 2008 otherwise it'll just be a repeat for 2009, and that'll be a shame really...
Im not getting hung up about 2008, in fact quite the opposite. Im looking forward to making 2009 the best show season yet and I know everyone else ive spoken to feels the same so can we please stop referring to it as it can only serve to cause friction.
Last year Lou supplied the username signs to put in the windows but unfortunately not many people bothered to use them. We will do the same again this year but will try to enforce it.
Not sure what your point is about supplying name etc, its there in the sticky thread so doesn't need to be repeated. If people dont supply these when ordering tickets then they dont get tickets!
On the matter of stand organisation, it is very difficult in practise to arrange. As we dont know the size/shape of the stand until the day we cannot make a stand plan. FT has always had a wide range of cars not only in models but also standard of presentation. The philosophy has always been that as long as its a Ford you can come on the stand, even if its a work in progress or a std 1.1 or a shed (apart from Trax and other shows not aimed at the Ford marque when other marques are welcomed). We were criticised because some of those individuals with less than perfect cars may have felt they were given a crap position because of that. The only fair way to deal with this is to line up cars in the order they arrive. Also it was mentioned that the cars positioned around the gazebo were not FRST's or indeed fiestas. In view of that, this year the gazebo will be at the back of stands, those people that arrive with gazebos, banners, seats etc will park around it as usual but it wont be the centre peice it once was. Everyone is welcome in the gazebo, and I would encourage people to bring their own chairs along so they can sit and relax.
The only organising of cars I would like to see is if we could get a selection of nice std mint FRST's together like we had at FITP last year. If no-one has any objections I would make space for them at the front or maybe a nice formation in the middle of the stand.
The spirit of FT is still alive and i'm sure its going to be a great year for shows. All suggestions to improve shows welcome. Onwards and upwards
Paul, just to clarify mate - my post was in no way meant as a snipe about prior shows (or anything for that matter!)
The thing about numbers, car reg etc was just that there is no mention in the tickets thread: http://www.fiestaturbo.com/forums/fitp-tickets-17th-may-vt173927/ - you know what forums are like, you need to be implicit...
Now I feel partly responsible for some of the bitching that happened at FITP 2008. It wasn't due to me having a moan, but I did park my shonky s**t of an Escort in front of other members cars who had actually spent time and money making their car look good. I felt bad about it, but there wasn't anywhere else to park. Therefore, my suggestion is that we could maybe reserve a small bit of the stand at the back for non-show cars to still be able to park up and not look miles out of place mixed in with show cars. I'd certainly park there if I have to bring the Escort again, I felt bad sticking it on the front last year...

Re: FITP IDEA
think if its done the way we are sating then anyone who gets there early but wants to leave their car at the back then they should be able too, as think the stands are being done from the front back. TBH thou, given the layout of the show, if someones car is so bad that they feel it should be hidden at the back of the stand, why not just stick it in the carpark?

not the fact my car was so bad Dave, more the point that it:
a) was a daily drive and not intended as a show car
b) wasn't a fiesta
c) didn't really deserve to be in front of other cars that had had the time and money lavished on them
It was presentable, just not really deserving of a prominent position on the stand...
Makes no difference to me now I have the XR2 - but last year I felt a bit sorry for the people behind my Escort. However, still no excuse for them to go off ranting and calling people names etc mind...

At the end of the day, the cars on the stand are all the cars of people who applied for tickets.
If people want to see more turbo's then it's upto them to bring them.
