Fitting a 6 speed intermittent wiper stalk

Fitting a 6 speed intermittent wiper stalk

Postby waxdaddy on Sun Jun 23, 2013 1:16 am

I've recently picked up an RS1800 and as a few bits are past their best I'm considering some upgrades while I'm fixing bits. One thing that I need to do is replace the indicator/wiper stalk mechanism.

I remember from a very very long time ago my 1998 escort ghia had a 6 speed intermittent front wiper, and as far as i know the mechanism's are identical between the fiesta and escort from that period.

has anybody ever retro fit one into a fiesta? I presume I will need the 6 speed relay from an escort.

Where can I find a pin out guide for the multi plugs that fit the back of the mechanism?

Probably Excursion, it did ring a bell but tbh, I was too lazy to go look. Might also be on fiestaguides.
Nothing to see here...

Even though I'm decades late... It's not on fiesta-guides (that's the first place I looked). It has been done by Excursion but my god, too big a thread!

i have tried to do this and its not as simple as swapping over and adding the relay...

the 6 speed switch has 2 12 pin connectors where as the fiesta has 1x12 and 1x8 (i think) pin connectors. also the logic boards are layed out differently and the pins are not in the same order so would need a total re wire

as for the relay, you will need to run an extra wire to the relay holder from the switch and use the 6 speed relay

still trying to work it all out
