Fitting a chip yourself
2 posts • Page 1 of 1
Ok so I wanted to get my FRST chipped. I wanted a 165 Stage 0 chip. So I phoned a few places and got a few different stories about how it can be done. One place said to get a chip and a actuator and the other said to get a chip and a bleed valve. I was alittle confused by this!
So I spoke to both places involved and while I agree it's a good idea to upgrade the actuator anyway is it really needed? The reason being is that I have a bleed valve already and it would be alot easier to fit this if I didn't HAVE to upgrade the actuator.
Any views on this?

If you have a bleed valve already you dont really need the actuator.
Using the actuator is the best way, but i have a bleed valve and have had no trouble with it because i have not touched it.
If you do get a chip and fit it remember to get your car set-up on a rolling road to make sure everything is okay.
