Fitting an anti-roll bar

Fitting an anti-roll bar
I would like to fit an anti-roll bar to my low spec fiesta. Unfortunatly the new struts have no bracket for the top bit of the bar. Without people screaming at me for being dangerous (dangerous brian) is it possible to weld a bracket onto the strut? Or perhaps by another method.
If i can't manage this, how do i go about fitting an XR2i crossmember, would this benefit handling on its own without an anti-roll bar?
THANKS

If you're welding's ok andyou can knock up a jig to make sure the strut mount is perfectly level then I don't see why not. If you got new shocks from e.g. spax they're welded on - mind you their welding is probably a bit better than mine
The XR crossmember is basically a lower strut brace - it does the same as one in the engine bay will: reduces flex in the turrets when cornering hard.
BTW if you are getting a sway bar, the ones from the RS1800 are the thickest (stiffest). One other thing I'm not sure about is whether the lower arms from models from models with no ARB have the holes / fittings for monuting the ARB bushing assembly?

i do believe the thick front ARB was fitted to the FRST
the si one etc are thinner
you will need the brackets
it would be cheaper to buy some second hand FRST shocks
or a new set of spax shocks comes in at under £200
