fitting chip !!!!!!!!!!!!!

how easy is it to fit a 165 chip. Seen them for £175, but want £100 for fitting on top ( £275). Isn't it a case of just plugging it in?

Yeah, it needs setting up on the rollers mate.
Had mine done for about 4 weeks now and the difference is awesome, even from just a 165 chip.

13.5 psi, 167bhp, 150 lbft of torque at 3500rpm through till just under 6000rpm.
Brung a -32 actuator with me, but they said they couldnt fit it, cos something was missing...so used the standard one and it holds the boost well
BTW, i cant get any grip from the front wheels at the moment...

Right, its running on the standard turbo...K&N induction kit, Magnex exhaust.
What psi u run at depends on wether u can get enough fuel through those injectors...
They tried to set it at 14.5psi, but it was pinking

guys dont be driving around to hard with that much psi or you'll soon be needing major engine work as your engines are pratcially standard.
Evil Franky who did you go to, to fit the chip?? i cant believe they tried running it on 14.5 psi!!
Anyone who want a perfect rolling road set-up and chip i cant recommend TDI - Torque Developments International high enough. They are THE DADDY's!

13psi is right 4 a 165chip, the also adjust the standars actuator. Me is runnin 165 conversion with magnex 4" stainless system, panel filter + NGK plugs.
If u doin conversion yourself make sure u put Duck tape on the plug in chip so it dont WORK LOOSE!!!

You 'HAVE' to adjust the acuator...thats what sets the boost pressure...not the chip itself.
All the chip does is increase the boost limit from 10 psi to about 16 psi, and adjusts the fueling to compensate.

Hello people, I'm new here. Just gotta say, I've been in Frankies car and it is fast as hell. I drive a Calibra 2.0i and I thought that was fast....but I poo myself when I'm in his car. The new 165 chip is awesome (really 170bhp), pick up is incredible. Definately considering an RS for my next car.

erm........no........the chip does not set-up the fuelling of your car. A 165 just removes the over boost protection and not much more. The fuelling has to be set on a rolling road at idle and at full load.
cheers
