Postby MtY on Sat Jul 05, 2003 10:36 pm

I'm goign to be fitting a set of g-max -35mm shocks next week,
but i jus wanna kno what difficulties im gonna encounter.
I've read through the Haynes tuning manual,
and it all seems relatively easy, but i wondered if there was anythign to
watch out for

my mate just fitted a gmax 35mm drop on his 2i and it looks wicked and it was simple!

the main thing to remember is be careful with spring compressors!

Haynes manual (surprisingly) tells you all you need to know. :oooh:

Like Hooky says just be careful with them compressors, flying springs :aaah: are something I know I'd rather not encounter, at least until its no longer flying...

Difficulties? If you're changing shocks make sure you've got some way of "securely" attatching the brake lines to the shock, its a MoT req (I think).

you need to take the shocks off to change the springs anyway so you may aswell do the whole lot at once.

I think it will be easier if u change both shocks and springs the last set i got from a shop had the springs already on the shocks so all i had to do was bolt them on the car :bonkers:
