Postby goaty on Sat Nov 25, 2006 12:07 pm

Hi,
Can anyone tell em if its possible and how easy it is to fit a EscortRS S2 LSD into a 1.6Si box, or an rs1800 box??
I ask as a friend has one spare and i need a new gearbox soon, so though could stick it in if its possible.
thanks in advance.

The LSD bolts into any BC box I think. Never done it though so I can't tell you how hard it would be, but I'm pretty sure it's a direct replacement for the standard diff.
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

There are two types of Escort RS turbo LSD´s. Series 1 with 6 bolt fixing and Series 2 with 8 bolt.

You just need to know the number of bolts on diff in current box.

According to Performance Ford magazine (may 2005 issue), RS1800 box has 8-bolt fixing. There´s a good article about Ford FWD boxes, you should all read it :)
