Fitting Twin 40's to an xr2i with EFI head???

Postby stevexr2iproject09 on Wed Feb 04, 2009 7:34 pm

Hi, hope someone can help me???

I want to fit dellorto DHLA twin 40's to an xr2i with the EFI head

I believe i'll need either an adaptor plate or the head welding to cover the injector holes - what would you suggest? which is the better option and which is likely to be cheaper? (i've seen the plates advertised for around £100 on the net - seems bit pricey?)

Think i'll need a fuel pressure regulator to stop the carbs flooding but what else would I need to do to get it up and running?

This is going to be a track only car so MOT test / emissions etc are not an issue

Any advice would be very welcome...

It depends who does the welding and machining to the head will determine the price

The easy root is the adaptor plate
Now driving a 1999 Audi S3 with 2.1 20v OD HTAGT3582r Turbo

Bring on the 650+Bhp 4x4 monster

thanks, looks like a hundred notes for the adapter plate it is then!

is there anything else you think i'll need to do - get the impression the EFI system is pretty complex?

As ever any advice is very welcome
