I believe you have to weld a spark plug into your exhaust (back box) then run it from the coil on a seperate switch so when you flick it on any excess fuel ignites the spark and flames are produced (i think)...probabley best of buying one of the kits that come with everything, i think there about £79...

flamer
Yeah you can make your own, you have to weld a on a nut that the spark plug could screw into cus one day you would need to change the plug and it's not so easy when it's welded in!
I think the plug has to be in the outlet of the backbox and can be difficult if not impossible on a tapered outlet.
You would also need a coil to hold the charge and I don't know how easy it would be to use the engines one!
Then a swith to flame it!
Also your car will have to constantly overfuel so that it can be ignited, which will reduce performance. That's why they work better on turbo's cus they tend to chuck quite a bit of fuel through and some doesn't always get burnt.
Everyone 's not going to get 6 foot flames, maybe more like a fag lighter cus of the ECU's, nowadays it's not easy to get a car to overfuel!!
They don't guarantee flames on every car!
I would get professional advice first and then buy a flamer kit just to be safer!
