Fli Audio?

Fli Audio?
I am looking for a smaller scale ICE setup for my C2 as the 2x12" subs and amps won't fit in the C2 boot.
I am not after anything near the same power but a standard setup will annoy me.
I am looking at running 4 speakers (may upgrade speakers) off the headunit and then using a small active Sub.
I have found this:
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/audio-active-trap-ft10-p-4216.html
Does anybody have any opinions on Fli audio, it would seem they are using Vibes old blackair sub design which I am more than happy with in my current setup.
More to the point would speakers off the headunit and a sub like that be balanced and actually sound decent?
Any other suggestions on a sub and welcome.

Re: Fli Audio?
i had and 800w FLI sub and two sony 6x9's powerd from an amp then just two infinity door speakers
brilliant little set up and the small FLI subs are rather good
I have now changed to a 1000w alpine sub and amp taken the 6x9's out but kept the door speakers
Still sounds cracking may have to put 6x9's back though as the bass sometimes over powers the words

Re: Fli Audio?
whats the budget you have for everything mate? also what headunit are you going to run?
If i were you, i would spend a bit extra and go for something along the lines of
Headunit
front speakers
amp
sub
wiring
and a tiny bit of sound deadening
however, when wiring into the C2, you have to take into consideration that these cars run canbus systems so you will need a convertor...costing upwards of £120 or so! only needed if you will be changing your existing stereo...things you will lose if the adapter is not used are parking sensors, front lights and something else which has gone from memory lol
if thats getting on the expensive side, i would highly recommend on spending what you would have done on the sub and amp and going for a aftermarket headunit, a DECENT set of components, an amp to power them and lots of sound deadening for the doors...if you ever get to listen to the setup in my focus, just running my front end, you will be convinced there is a sub playing in the boot!

Re: Fli Audio?
Maybe more info on my current setup would help as I want to recycle if I can.
Firstly my current subs and amp to power them is being sold.
I have a pioneer headunit I plan to use, its an older model now but still good, its one of the ole display ones with mp3/wma and a full set of preouts (+ very nice controls over everything)
I also have a set of kenwood dualmags (coax 5.25) which are very good quality speakers, hopefully they will fit in the rear of the C2 if needed.
I have a MAC audio amp 4x80w rms.
Now I believe the C2 already has comps up front so anything I can fit in the factory locations would be a bonus.
I don't want to spend very much, I spent a fortune in my previous cars and this time I just can't justify it.
Would the factory speakers on a decent headunit not amped sound ok? with a small sub to add the bass which will no doubt be missing.
I really don't want t spend much more than £100-150, sounds a tight budget but I already have a lot of bits.

Re: Fli Audio?
your budget is gone on the canbus adapter alone you HAVE to use this otherwise you WILL lose functions on the car
new plan time lol
keep your headunit
keep your amp
but a set of front components
buy a sub and a box
run your front speakers and your sub off the amp
keep the rear speakers standard powered off the headunit but fade them out when no one is in the back
happy days!
if your concerned about losing too much boot space, get a custom enclosure built up

I may be missing something on this one, looked it up on many places and all I need is a wiring adapter for about £3.50 from citroen if I am not bothered about the stalk controls. Its just a slight change of wiring and the ECU ignores the missing stereo and carrys on.
I got this from reading up on a few message boards (C2 and car audio wise).
Not saying you are wrong just seems odd that nobody else has mentioned it, you got any more information?
In removing the current headunit there is 2 iso plugs and the adapter/harness goes on the power plug and then plugs into the stereo.
Maybe its a age/reg thing, mine is a 54 plate.

Re: Fli Audio?
I would have thought funny shapped dash holes/standard equipment with different plugs was enough, but from what you say it seems they are trying to cut the market completely, I wouldn't bother if that was the cost before I started.
So with that idea would the standard speakers on a decent headunit + the mentioned Sub be a balanced system, maybe an upgrade of the front speakers, but nothing major as running them of the head unit won't power them enough to get the most anyway.
