are the xr2i and frst flywheels the same?

if so are they suitable for machining to make them alot lighter or will it just make them incredably weak?

wanna sort loads of bits out on the car whilst im waiting for the resray so am fitting a new gearbox etc and thought may as well do this at same time as its not alot harder to fit a fly wheel... but dont wanna take mine only to ruin it so will get one from a scrap yard to take if its do-able safely!

they are just the same mate, but iwouldnt recommend getting anything skimmed off, the only real way to go is buy a lightened one from the likes of Burton power. skimming turns it into a 6K rotating mass time bomb.
