focus rear brake setup questions
Hi there,
I know some of you here did a focus rear disc setup om a mk5 beam.
A friend of mine ownes a mk6/7 escort RS2000 (1996) and still has rear drums (yes some late rs2000 had drums) and he wants to convert to rear discs.
One of the issues is that it has the same bolt parten as the focus/mk5 fiesta. the other issue is that it has ABS on the rear.
We have 2 options.
- Fit mk5 rs2000 rear discs, which is a H$ll of a job due to a different bolt patern .. the mk5 escort shares the same bolt patern as the mk3 fiesta, and the mk6/7 escort shares the same bolt patern as the mk5 fiesta (and focus)
- Fit focus rear discs with ABS (they DO have ABS at the rear do they??)
Fitting the hubs and callipers won't be the issue..
The things i need to know:
- Handbrake setup (which cable to use on a mk3 fiesta .. or on an escort .... and what modification is needed etc .. i know the escort mk5 and fiesta mk3 have nearly the same yoke, the mk6/7 have a different one)
- will rs2000 rear disc brake lines fit the focus calliper
- Some pics of the disc setup of a focus front AND rear (for the ABS part) .. as the pics in the Guide in FAQ don't work no more
- Measurement of the 'wideness' of this setup (from axle to wheel mounting face)
looking out to your responses..
