Ford Fiesta RS1800 Eleanor

Postby Mustoe91 on Sun Aug 12, 2012 9:05 pm

Ive been on this site now for 2 years and i have finally decided to pull my fingerout my ass and make my own thread

Now i havent had the best of luck with my car as some people know i had the water pump go bang, headgasket blow, wiring issues and a few othe minor things. Lucky enough Tweek was on hand to help me out with these jobs even drove to swansea to resuce me and cant thank him enough he has helped me out with every aspect of this car so.... Thank you wayne

Now i went to australia and sold the car to a RS enthusiast now was planning to go for a year but managed to spend 5k in oz in 8weeks pretty good going i thort so i returned home to see the bloke was selling the car so i made him a offer and he execpted it so Eleanor is back :D

Too the car MK3.5 RS1800
Image
Image

Now the plan for the car is to eventully throttle bodie it but this wont be happening for about another year yet so for the time being ive been busy researching looking at parts, inspiration and so on and here goes...

3Door cossie wheels
Spax coilovers
Poly bushes
Roose hoses

They will be done within the next month or so and will get some pictures up as i go along

Now if any of you have any idea of what i can do or what would look good im always open to suggestions

Hope you enjoy reading this as it progresses

Many thanks Sam

The shaft had snapped so I couldn't get the pulley off. I had to drop the engine down on the one side and withdraw it under the chassis leg.

I've only jut started to enjoy the car again, I have no ties no bills going out so I can just focus on getting it how I want need to up date more pictures really, keep thinking of more things to do to it like sorting the brakes out but what's the best conversion to use cossie, st170 ? I don't know that's why I started this thread up to gain info from you guys

depends on your budget, and wheel size really, 14s best you get is RS2000 brakes, theyre 260s
for 15" wheels the cossie 280's are best (ST150 also)
for very few 15s and any 16s 300mm ST170 brakes will fit (zetec s phase 2 wheels can just about fit the 300s behind, but the caliper needs grinding down)

ST150 brakes, they just bolt straight on. Wont fit under 14's though so would need 15's at least, i reckon rs2k 5 spokes

yea both the cossie and ST150 brakes are 280mm, wont ever need much bigger really, can always go for pad and disc also servo upgrades (servo is the first thing id upgrade, such a massive difference)

engine bay is nice and tidy, subtle

but get your self on DMB graphics and buy yourself a new crossover pipe sticker, they sell genuine 130 1.8 injection stickers, i can personally recommend them

Put the new suspension on and come across a problem with one of the track rod ends, so changed both of them and took it to garage to get tracking done....

Here are the results
