Hi all

Some of you may of seen the turbo kit for a ka on ebay recently.

I am interested in knowing more about this for my 1.3 mk4 fiesta.

I know its for the KA but they both share alot of similaritys and wondered if it would fit the fiesta aswell. I also know Van Aaken do a very similair turbo conversion, but is expensive compared to this kit.

This is what was included in the auction:

The Turbo
Intercooler
Pipework
FSE Fuel Regulator
Bailey Dump Valve
Boost Gauge

Would I need anything else other than obviously bits and bobs regarding the mounting etc etc?

The kit didnt meet the reserve but im trying to negotiate a deal outside of ebay with the seller, is there anything i should know for the conversion im probs going to attempt it myself, doesnt look *too* hard.

Here is the original auction if it helps

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... &rd=1&rd=1

Regards! :)

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but surely then you would need a new ECU or at least the one you have chipping and mapping, you'd also need a map sensor too...

And then down the line an engine rebuild when you melt a piston? :)

if you think a turbo conversion on a non turbo engine doesnt look to hard then drop the idea and stay n/a.

well heres a start.

turbo oil feed and returns would need to be tapped into the block/sump.
an ic would need fitting and all pipework would probably have to be custom.
you would need a new engine loom as you need a map sensor to monitor boost and a remap so you dont melt anything.

thats just a very vague idea of a small part of it. and dont think you can do it on a shoestring either. it can be done to any engine as long as it has an intake and an exhaust manifold. but it just means investing a lot of time, effort and money. also why the hell would you want to do it on a 1.3 anyway. if your gonna do it go 1.6 at least. also have you thought about insurance as well? or are you gonna be one of the guys who will just keep the conversion on the d/l? cos thats a stupid idea. you may as well not pay insurance as itll not pay out anyway if you crash.

just my 2p
8 slices, 4 Sandwiches.
