forget a 2L mondeo coversion..on a fiesta....what about?....

Postby Xr_Dub on Sat Aug 07, 2004 2:15 am

I was thinking of investigating in doing a

2.5 24 vale mondeo engine conversion on my xr2i or future frst:

= 170 bhp standard
= Top speed 139
= 0-60 8.0 seconds (that’s in a mondeo so imagine in frst shell)

Plus u add a t3 turbo = 50-80 BHP

That’s 250 bhp with turbo

It’s a 2.5 v6, Litres count, and it’s a Zetec bags of torque and eats up the miles, how about supercharger it even if not a turbo?

Comments please?

It has been done several times, both in the front and rear of a mk3, and a few times in a mk4 also.

How did they manage that?

Surely the engine bay had to be extended?

i've heard these engines are difficult to tune other than supercharge them.
think you might struggle to fit them in a wee fez. they fill the engine bay on the mondy and fez bay is tiny compared to that

You need to cut firewall slam panel etc etc to fit it in an Escort, I wouldn't even dream of fitting it into a Fiesta...

thats a big only lump to shoe horn into a fiesta :D , but i seen a corsa with a 24 valve 2.5 v6 in one of thoese giypo gliter mags, :o so i think it will fit with a lot of hassle, but then there is the weight of the engine to consider as well. not worth it really

I think it would probably be cheaper/easier just to fit a 2.0 zetec turbo with 350bhp :D

A Ford V6 isn't worth the hassle, time or money into a Fiesta imo.
