front speakers

Postby chrome247 on Wed Sep 12, 2007 6:13 pm

alright guys. I've installed new front speakers using the original speaker wire. They worked fine for a week but on sunday they shorted the head unit. Disconected all the wires at the back put them all back in shorted again. If i keep the volume down it stays on as soon as i turn the volume up its shorts. After about 10 attempts i put all the wires back in turned the volume right down then gradually turned it up worked fine untill this morning. Same problem again. I've disconnected the front speakers now so jus got the 6x9's going works fine but need to get my front speakers again. Any help much appreciated.

Are the connections on the back of the speakers shorting on the door? Try insulating them fro each other and that with plenty of tape.

i would just run new speaker cabling into the doors...not too difficult but failing that...as said...check the connections behing the speaker
