FRST How much boost @ Stage 1??

Postby karl_xr2iT on Thu Oct 14, 2004 11:33 am

Guys and Gals

Just fitted my Stage 1 chip last night - so no more over boosting! Whoooohoo!

What can i put the boost up to now? I want it quicker but i dont want to kill it. Ive got a Piper X Filter and performance exhaust but running a standard I/C at the mo.

Your help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

stage 1 chip is a 165 chip I supose. If so its made to run 0.8bar (12PSI).
Some tuners can get a little more out of it, but its on the RR or/and road. Special hardware is also needed (wide lambda reader for ex).

Std FRST IC is crap. Even if you get a better IC while going on std boost you'll get more power.

Yeah its the superchiip 165 chip, ive got her to spin up to a max of 12psi in 4th/5th now and its running like a train.

Gonna get the fueling checked out just to make sure i dont blow anything up.

Cheers Guys
