FRST Ignition system

Postby thehuzman on Sat Jul 17, 2004 11:36 am

With uprating FRST motors to produce double their intended power+ is the original ignition system up to the job?
Seems a bit difficult to uprate what with it being coil pack. So I have just a set of aftermarket leads.
Anyone uprated theirs? was it worth it? What did you do?

All you need to do is use a good spark plug and standard Ford HT leads. Aftermarket "upgraded" HT leads will not give you any more performance.

I use std Ford leads and NGK R spark plugs.

What boost you running? I got the leads so I dont have to replace them as often really.

You WILL need to replace the leads just as often, i used to have Magnecore (spl) on mine and they didnt last any longer than the std Ford items, but at least the Ford items arent £60 or so.....

Im running about 0.9 bar = 13psi
