FRST juddering

Postby Escort Cos on Thu Aug 21, 2003 9:24 am

Sometimes when I floor it, the car starts to juddy, like it's being staved of fuel or something. This only happens sometimes.

Would it be dirty injectors? if so, anyone recommend any good stuff that will clean em.

time to renew the sparkies.. i guess..
had the same problem before..

could be a lack of fuel though.. (change the fuel filter.. or turn up the fuel pressure a bit..)

If you're not running standard boost.. but you are running standard ECU (not chipped) either turn down the boost.. or get it chipped..

It could also be the overboost-safety

The engine is completly standard, standard boost, standard ECU.

If it was spark plugs, would it not do it all the time?

it didn't with my car.. changed the sparks.. problem fixed at my car..

worth a try ..
cost me around 8 quid (12 euro) to get 4 original motorcraft sparks..
they had to order them .. cause the motorcraftsparks of the FRST are ONLY made for the FRST.. and there were only 33 sold in holland..

Just been out in the car again and this ain't a spark plug prob. I just tried to floor it off a roundabout the car was just jerking and stuggling to go anyway then all of a sudden it just took off.

It's like there is a blockage somewhere?

you better stop driving the car hard and get this problem looked at by a tuner before you could cause serious damage to the engine.

Is there a chip pluged in the ecu, and have u got a bleed valve on the car as it sounds like its over boosting.

Turn ur ignition off and on if it's overboosting and get a new actuator to hold 7psi. No bleed valves with-out a chip m8.
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Got no bleed valves or a chip. I tanked a load of injector cleaner in the tank and it seems to have stopped it for now.

Started again. It seems to happen when I really drive the car hard.

When I hook my boost gauge up, what reading should I be getting for standard boost?

I think I'm going to book it in at Owen Developments to find out whats wrong with it and maybe get a chip fitted too.
