FRST - Stalls now & again
Hi,
My FRST stalls now & again. Tick over is fine when ticking over (idle). It was set-up on a rolling road a few months ago, due to it leaning lean (according to the mechanic)
Any ideas? It seems to happen when I pull up to a junction. It's happened 3-5 times..

Is it stalling when warm or cold?when cold is it revving hiher than 1000RPM?ISCV is the solenoid which is on the left side of the inlet plenum,it is bolted on it and has a fose that bolts on the crossover pipe.It just bypass the throttle plate, you can;t miss it Have anyone fiddled the idle screw on the throttle plate housing by any chance?

I've personally not touched it.
It stalls when warm.

Have you ever cleaned it?Perhaps it is sticking.Although if it does it mostly when warm, first thing I would think would be the coolant temp sensor which is bolted on the underside of the inlet manifold...

If i'm looking at the engine is the coolant temp sensor on the right or left? Colour?
Any photos?

It's in the back of the engine, bolted on the underside of the inlet manifold, near the plate that bolts on the head.I don't think you can see it,I would say you can feel it if you follow it's wire going from the injector loom and ending under the inlet manifold, about in the middle of it.It looks like this:
Ignore the colour of the plug, yours may be different, depending on the manufacturer.Although usually,Ford ones are orange in colour. The metal part of the sensor is bolted on the engine and comes in contact with the coolant. This regulates the mixture when the engine is cold, telling the ECU to enrich the mixture. It alters it's resistance depending on the coolant temperature,so when it get's knackered,it may not enrich,so you will have erratic running when engine is cold,or it can not "understand" when the engine is hot and keeps telling ECU to run rich, flooding your engine and making it difficult to start when warm or not idling as it should, due to flooding...
