My FRST has been previously set up at power engineering at 15psi. The car runs 2.5% co. Mileage is getting up now 70k. Ive turned the boost down to 12psi, is this ok. Is ignition tinibg set for 15psi?

It should be OK, i dont think you will get over fuelling or anything and you definatly wont get detonation
Best bet is to get it RR and set up right for the lower boost

Surely the chip is already mapped for the lower boost? In which case everything should be fine?

No....as the fuelling will be set for 15psi...if you lower the boost you will have too much fuel going in and this can cause bore wash.

Get your car checked out and make sure

I just thought that the MAP sensor would detect the lower boost, tell the ECU which would lower the fueling accordingly. This not correct, no?

Erm.....kind of, but the problem is that the fuel pressure will still be set for higher than needed at full boost...which will then put too much fuel through.

Bore wash : is having too much fuel in the cylinder that will not 100% burn, this will leave fuel in the cylinder and going out of the exhaust valves. This will eventualy cause wear on the cylinder walls and valve stems.

I dont know how too much fuel would affect the stem seals...that could be another problem.
