Postby dusty on Sat Sep 30, 2006 12:20 am

When i took my car for the mot the man mot'ing told me to pop the cap off and theres an allen key bolt...this adjusts the fuel...told me t give it a turn and my car will be quicker and more responsive?

Is this true or is he taking the piss? can anything bad happen? ie break anything!! Cheers

Rubbish!

Just by turning up your fuel pressure you will NOT make your car quicker. All you will do is start to overfuel and that causes damage to the cylinders.
You should only have the fuel pressure adjusted if you have modified the engine and it is being setup by a tuner.

And I'd put money on them all being slower and bad on fuel afterwards.

That's assuming he knows that to increase the pressure you have to wind the screw in! He might've created a load of cars that pull brilliant economy for a week then go bang!
