hi m8, yeah you do have to drop the tank, fords put a hole in the body work under the back seat, but not big enough to get the pump through, when the tanks out tap the fuel pump around with a screwdriver to release it from the tank.

easy enough job to do!

me and a mate did this, this afternoon, in about 30mins!!

not really worth changign the pump tho if ur staying with std injectors as the pump wont push more throught the injectors as they can flow! (flowrate of injectors)

if u r uprating the pump get an escort cosworth one and then put the bosch 701 (beige) injectors on!!

how ever to run the injectors you also need a suitable chip (195 superchip for example) with the map to run these injectors!

but yeah, to change the tank all you do is undo the small fuel hose, put a jack under the tank, undo all 4 bolts and drop the tank, then all you do is knock the securing ring of the pump round with a hammer and screwdriver to release the origional pump, then assemble the uprated pump into the assembully of your pump and repete the above but in reverse! (dont forget to depressureise the system first tho :o) ;)

hope this helps
