Dont think so, the zetec use a Mx or MTX 75 gearbox i think (please can someone correct me if i'm wrong) and they are a pain to fit into the fiesta's apparently, i'd stick with the BC type box, but maybe go for an RS turbo box if you want a stronger one

Thanks

Depends on what kind of zetec the gearbox is from
If it is a 1.6 (90bhp)or the 1.8(105bhp) till 95 you can fit it because it is the same gearbox(bc type)
If it is a 130bhp XR3I you have a mtx gearbox and that will fit but you need another flywheel and clutch en gear lever
If the gearbox is from a escort after 95 you got a IB5 gearbox and you need to change the starter also and relocate the altenator to the back of the engine
Tell me what kind of escort(witch year) it is so i can tell you what gearbox you need

Then it shouldn't be a prob :bonkers:
Only prob je have is that the gears from the 1.8 zetec are longer then the one from your old gearbox

Oh, that's my goal - longer gears! Cause now I'm like a Formula1 driver - shift gears on every 5 secs.!
cheers

Uhhhhhhhhhh another thing you won't do top speed in 5th gear anymore because of the longer gear but it is less fuel consuming :bonkers: :bonkers:

EH?!

Any iB or BC with a front-mounted starter that bolts into your enginebay the same way will fit.

You won't need to touch the clutch, flywheel or gearlever as long as the box isn't an MTX75 (and if it is, it just won't bolt in).

You can't put a starter on the back of the engine - the CVH doesn't have the right cut-outs for it.

To tell what box you have, try this: http://st2000.s5.com/ftransguide.html

Depends what power he has. If he's got enough to keep overcoming his drag, I daresay he could well get his top speed in fifth. If he's after longer gearing, I daresay he's got enough power to warrant that wish.
