getting stripped parts list in parts for sale section
As the title says im 16 and got my first car about 4 weeks ago so now the owner of a 1989 1.4lx fiesta
got it from a scrap yard where they were going to strip it so i thought id save it as it is a pretty clean car inside and out
so unfortunately it was a 5 door but its growing on me
so when i got it , it was missing ht leads so got them and some oil and fule and of course new spark plugs and still dosnt work so my mate came and was looking and we tried staring it again also puting it in gear to try and bump start it but nothing then we head a big bang we had a look and nothing so we decided to remove the starter motore and the cam belt housing and to my surprise the belt had snaped but not because it was old because there waas a chunk of metal jammed imbertween the bottom cog and belt so just ordered a new belt but the bottom cog looks a bit worn down so ive got to see how the belt sits.
plans for it:
get it driving
lower it 60mm on new springs
new interior
xr21 wheels
get a set of tail lights from germany and get rid of the revers light
paint front and back bumpers black also smooth the grove in them
ps how do i upload picture so you can view the without clicking a link
thanks

Re: First car at 16 for sale offers taken
Up for sale due to being a 1.4 so I wouldn't be able to insure it
The car is a 1.4lx 5 speed in aqua jade
It has front electric windows
Electric boot popper in centre console
Recently fitted cam belt at 75k miles
Engine works
Has had new oil
New ht leads and new spark plugs
Floor pans are rust free so is the boot and turrets
Carpet and roof lining are not torn but due for a clean
Compleat lay standed interior even has the factory fitted radio casete which work a treat
Also has all the original window with the reg on them
Plus all the seals don't leak and haven't got moss growing on them
All interior lights and dials work
Starts first time
Clutch is good
Comes with some service history in service book
Bad bit
No mot or tax
Needs new set of wheels
Have started some rust repair on o/s on the fron wing and drivers door
Both front sill need repairing
There ar specs of rust on the rear arches
Also the rear o/s door has a small dent
(When removing the side strips I noticed that it has had a respray at the bottom in a darker shade of green
Missing rear window wiper and motor

Re: First car at 16 for sale offers taken
sorry for the long update but I have been doing some rust repair as its getting closer to winter and don't want it getting any worse so the drivers side is complete and is ready for a coat of paint but the colour is a difficult one because aqua jade is a really light green and through the years the colours got darker so its difficult to match
but I brought my self a bargain from a mk3 1.6s overiders with headlight washer jets to start project retro
bargain at 31quid inc postage and package

Re: First car at 16 project retro
small update been doing abit more sanding down to get rid of imperfections in the paint and beating the rust befor it starts but ran out of sand paper will upload some pictures
plus im now going for the full rs accessory kit to give it more of a retro look but cant find any
but looks like I need a new master cylinder so if any one have one for sale in the Essex area for a 89 1.4 that would be great as I can sort out the brakes or if you could tell me if I could replace the sills inside it and how to do it would be a great help

Re: First car at 16 project retro
been a little while since I updated this but been researching on my car while its been raining and found out that the car was first registered in 1989 but then registered in 1990 plus the colour it is called aqua jade and was introduced in 1990 which means my car is a bit rare from what a ford worker said in a ford dealer
plus pictures are gonna be put up tomorrow
