Got A Dilemma...:@

when i phoned up Adflux to get insurance for my petrol in February, i made sure i got a quote for the diesel van and they said they would put it on my notes for future referance....

got the van MOT'd today, flew through and it is all ready to go on the road.

Phoned up Adflux and asked to insure it, they have no record f the other quote. They run through the van's details to see if the company im insured with will except it (highway) and guess what.............they dont except it because im not using it for comercial use, and they dont have an option for using it as a private vehicle

they said they will check around for other insurers on the van and see what competetive prices there are on other companies as a private vehicle.............they want another grand ontop of the £450 they will give me back for not being able to insure it :x

now clearly im not going to pay this, i will get £390 back from them if i go with another company. So ive got to start phoning around again......

am i likely to get a decent quote for the van as a private vehicle??

If i register with the DVLA tp change the number of seats, so that it will show up as a 4 seater, will that make a difference??

Or shall i just sell up and find another diesel with more windows?

Cheers

Wouldn't the quote only have been usable for 7 or 14 days anyway :-?

Yeah I think Flux will honour quotes for upto 28 days.

Moral of the story, for every quote ask for written confirmation.
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.
