I had to cut out a small hole in the induction pipe AFTER the maf and BEOFRE the TB, otherwie it seems there is too much ait going through MAF then intended so it does not run right?
Anyone else had this?

no its not the same, yes its an easier fit, uses same fuel rail as the normal efi inlets, much easier way of doing it if thats what you want

I see. Would it still fit in a Fiesta bay and flow as much air since they are only designed for a 1.8? Im just wondering really because i was looking at a mates one the other day, next to the mondeo inlet, and it is definatley smaller.

I'm in the process of doing it. As far as I can tell it's all good and Dazza is a top bloke, so don't doubt him. From looking in to it everything should go well as long as the connections for the iscv and tps are soldered properly. Other ways of connectiong them may mess up the readings to the ECU.

Re: Guide: fitting a 2.0 Focus inlet manifold LINK EDITED
everytime i look at this thread i get lost in thinks and maybes..
who has actually done it and still has it now? and does it hit the brake transfer bar (it looks like it does), theres no way i will silicone the hole so there will be an alternative found for that.
im on the hunt for a really cheap manifold to sort out once and for all if this works or not and i will post my own tutorial on exactly how to do it if should it be possible, also the link still isnt fixed.
bet ill be wasting my money either way

Re: Guide: fitting a 2.0 Focus inlet manifold LINK EDITED
it used the same fuel rail as the efi alloy inlet, but it ran like a sack of crap, i believe this was because the A.I.T sensor was up the duff. but it melted the injector o-ring seals!

Re: Guide: fitting a 2.0 Focus inlet manifold LINK EDITED
mate what do you want to know? i can sorta confirm right up to the idle speed valve that it all works if you modify an old throttle position sensor to fit and if the problem with the idle valve is what i think it is, then it can be done well..
ive got hundreds of pics of what ive done if you want to know anything mate just gimmi a shout..
unfortunatly my white project i cannot get now, but i have found another running white car which is mint.. once i get around to reshelling i will refit the focus manifold again this time with a different iscv..
but for the record, i had it running perfect for atleast 3 minuets! also you dont want to use the throttle and injectors that come with it, not unless you want to lose power compared to alloy inlets

Clarks, you may also gain some help from it if you wish to read it too, dont be too harsh on the guy, he did provoke the idea to me in the first place :) but i belive it has been done sucessfully by Sunny Kahalsa at one point.. may be myth tho, but i havent seen him post around her for a while, but im not the most attentive student :)
Sunil.. ive replied to your post here mate.. I couldent post pictures in this thread :)
fao-sunil-fiestars-16v-vt166624/
i had run into a problem with the inlet which is explained here
help-guys-ive-cocked-up-vt165085/
since then i dont know if i posted it or not, but i am pretty damn sure that if i use a mk1 mondeo iscv from any of the 3 cars containing deep desk or dewy ecu's, then it will not cut out..
it was running when cold (cold idle) once it warmed it up it couldent idle, youll see in my problem thread Tim who uses the blackoak ECU had problems using the EEC-IV ISCV... so it only make sense that its the same the other way around
This is why i never done the tutorial.. im in a crisis at the moment as someone drove into my car so everythings on hold until i find a nice clean shell to continue my fiestaness, but N-P reg white clean fiestas are hard to come by...
im tethering on getting a golf and doing a 20v conversion.. so trying another idle valve isnt my priority.. it costs me 24 quid in gaskets every time it goes wrong and i have to put the cast one back on. But when i have another fiesta and dont have to rely on the Si, i will try it and providing im right (im 99% sure).. i will be able to finaly do a conclusive tutorial on how to fit the focus manifold...
I was so close until it cut out, at that point i had to give up because i desperatly needed the car back on the road for work.. the focus manifold i belive can work and when it does it works well ;) maybe you can put the last peice of the puzzle together by trying a mondeo mk1 valve if your determined enought, which i know you are ;)

Re: Guide: fitting a 2.0 Focus inlet manifold LINK EDITED
it fits fine. with shagged engine mounts.. no knocking or fouling, i road tested it :)
the issues are with tps signal and iscv that the focus inlet uses which causes people do have problems :)
also mine has the large throttle, not the wedge shaped peice of restrictive crap :)
same size throttle as alloy 2.0 and same if not bigger diameter runners from plenum to head.

Wow, granted the links dont work but look how old this thread is - You cant blame them for failing since I havnt been around.
Its not that unclear, later today (hopefully) I will re-read the guide to fresh my memory and I will answer all these questions. The car I had has since gone so I cannot give any new pics. But, worked like a dream for me with no draw backs and pulled like a train although I got rid of the car before I could get it rollingroaded.

Re: Guide: fitting a 2.0 Focus inlet manifold LINK EDITED
dazza.. how did you manage that using the wrong tps and idle valve? the focus iscv doesent work with eec-iv as ive said many times, also the tps gives the totaly wrong type of output that ecc-iv uses.
its not hard to fit a diff iscv and mod a eec-iv tps to fit. ive done it.. and seeing as the car is off the road at the mo with the original inlet i might just fit it and vid it to show that it works!
your right about one thing tho, done right they pull march harder :D
still got this whole setup for sale :D

Dunno, it appears Iv lost my own guide and I cant quite remember everything but I know I didnt change any tps or icv - Ran fine (albeit at idle or around in circles at my old lock up, even up to temp so the fan kicks in).
