Guide - How to gift wrap your Fiesta!
I went home from uni yesterday for the first time in two months, largely to pick up things I'd left behind, but mainly to put some more anti-freeze in the Fiesta. I did that today (it seemed a healthy mixture beforehand anyway actually), and thought I'd take it for a drive somewhere to blow the cobwebs out, and maybe have some fun!
Sadly, the roads are minging and salty, so I decided to settle for letting it run up to temperature and run for a while. I came to unlock it on the alarm and the central locking seemed slow, so I thought it must've run the battery down. Plugged in the charger and after about 5 secs the "ready" light came on! Must've just been cold, as it turned over and fired up without a problem So I drove it out of the garage and let things warm up...then just had to drive it Drove it up and down the drive about four times just to use the gears a bit, then put it away for another month.
My mum heard the chatter echoing off the walls up the drive while she was inside  Ahhhh was very nice to hear again
So, without further ado, here is my guide to wrapping up a Fiesta to survive a harsh Cumbrian winter!
1. Lovingly drape a soft cotton blanket over the back half of the car:
2. Carefully lay another soft blanket over the front end of the car:
3. Cover entire car in canvas sheet:
Your car will now be protected from the harsh coldness of winter, and birds will not be able to moonwalk across your roof!
P.S. All pics taken on my Sony W800i, not bad I don't think!

How sweet, all ready for bed!
I don't blame you for not going for a drive, it's just a bit too dangerous to go fast, you can't be sure you'd be able to stop in time

The car is as I left it after the last drive I took it for, so it still needs a good clean! Was -1 back home today, so not really car-washing weather. I can deal with it being dirty, provided it goes well

Leave the rear quarters a tad open and fill them with pillow slips so you can ventilate the car and to stop stupid ammounts of condensation too!
Can I borrow that CD please I'm having trouble sleeping on these nights, the Morphine isn't doing the trick anymore

Ventilating rear quarterlights..interesting! Thankfully there wasn't any condensation, mould or nasty smell this time. Have come back before to find mould on the steering wheel and seatbelts!
I'll send you the CD when my car's back in everyday use

They can talk in their sleep then!
Escort: "Hi, how old are you?"
Fiesta: "I'm 16, what about you?
Escort: "Ahhh legal then "
Too much wine for me tonight I think! Post-Fiesta abandonment depression

Yep I will be doing some fairly important things over winter actually.
1. RS2000 rear disc conversion
2. Uprated Escort master cylinder/servo
3. Manual clutch pedal/ratchet (should let me get sub 6.5s for 0-60 at last)
4. Fit S-shaped crossmember
5. Get a strut brace made up
6. Possibly fit the dump valve at long last. My air filter is fitted via a big custom made pipe from the large filter diameter to the compressor housing, and that needs a 25mm stub welding on so I can use my dump valve as a recirculating valve rather than a noisy atmospheric valve.
Quite a few things really!
