Guide:OFAB Loom management pinout and plugs

Postby georgiocat on Tue Jul 14, 2009 2:16 pm

Here I have some info on OFAB mamangement. This is part of the info I used for the FEZT engine transplant in my MK5b Escort.Since I gather technical staff for ages now,I can't be sure where I found this, but obviously the opyright goes to the author,it is not mine just to be clear. It helped me a lot and hope to do the same with other people. If the admins want they can move it to the relevant section of the forum.Thanx.

I have to clear out after some search that the schematics on Haynes manual, and autodata, that I have personally checked numberous times when I was converting my car,is for the OFAC,so if you are converting to,or checking OFAB layout you must follow this guide, not the guide in Haynes or autodata.I have also TIS guide but is is a pain in the a@@e to follow it,and as everybody who worked on wirring knows, when you do that kind of work you need a clear and easy to read schematic...

OFAB is one of the 3 types of management for the Fiesta turbo.OFAA was the first one,OFAB the second release from Ford which was based on the marelli map sensor, and OFAC being the last one which used the classic rectangular ford map sensor. It was on CVH engines, but can work on zetec turbos, although not sure on what needed for the conversion on a zetec since I never did it.

If they are just plain brown ones,I mean no color trace on them, they usually are current return, ground.

HI All,
I know this is an old thread now, but im running into the same confusion over it all.
Did anyone actually get tot he bottom of the OFAB / OFAC co pot/ MAP pinouts? i know there is a lot of opinion out there, but can anyone say, "YES" there are variations of OFAB where the CO pot and MAP are in different pin numbers to the conventional conversion guide ... those being CO pot signal on pin 8 and MAP signal on pin 27?

Also, does anyone know what the output voltage / signal voltage from the CO pot should be for a standard setup?
Hope you can all help,
Cheers, Rich
