**H702 DEG (C8 RST) back on track! (sort of)**

Post pics of your Fiesta here.

Been out again tonight and re-mounted the switches for the low-pressure lift pump, Bosch High-pressure pump, 2-stage boost control and 3-way fan switch. Fan is now set up so I can switch it off completely, useful for 1/4 mile so the fan doesnt run causing a drag on the alternator, leave it on thermostat control or have it on full time.

A few pics of the mock-ups of the intercooler I've ordered.

First off a reminder of the size of the one I was going to fit.

Image

The first mock-up in cardboard, started off rectangular but mods saw the shape change.

Image

I eventually arrived at this design, a single pass with tapered tanks and a 60mm core.

Image

Its overall dimensions are much smaller than the humungus IC but...

Image

... the core is much wider so overall its more efficient.

Image

Should hopefully be with me by the end of the week, then its just a case of sorting out custom cross-over pipework and silicon hoses and joiners. Engine & gearbox need to be filled with oil and then it can be started for the first time in nearly four years :-?

Been out again this weekend getting as much done as possible to ensure it makes it to FITP. Yesterday I finished wrapping the rear loom. Today I blew an airline through all the aeroquipped lines to clear the crap out, changed the oil filter and filled it with new oil. It took absolutely ages for it to get oil pressure, I was getting worried until finally the light went out. I then bled the oil feed to the pressure gauge and then the turbo feed. Then I stuck a gallon of Shell's finest Super in the fuel cell. I fired up the lift pump and filled up the swirl pot, then realised I hadnt done up all the unions so had a small spillage! After thoroughly checking the rest I then tried to get up fuel pressure with the Bosch 044 but it failed to work. After much head scratching I realised I had the pump round the wrong way, hopefully this hasnt killed a brand new pump as its been running dry whilst I played about with it. Once I had pressure at the rail I stuck the plugs in and attempted to start it. Nilch, nada, nothing. Tried a an other ecu, edis and coil pack until Brianpower suggested it may be an earth. There was one earth in the engine bay not connected but I had assumed it was unimportant as it was on the other side of the engine bay to the ecu earth. Anyways, as soon as it was earthed I tried again and Bingo! it fired into life for the first time in nearly 4 years!!! Roll on FITP, woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Radiator and pipework now plumbed up, only problem is the fan switch has busted so needs to be replaced, luckily it can be switched on manually if needed. Last night I checked all the brake unions and filled up the system with fluid. Bled it all through with no drama's but found the pedal travel is quite excessive, a result of cossie calipers up front with Focus rear calipers. Been scouring e-bay and have ordered a new Mk5 ABS master cylinder and a Mk5 servo.

Ive spoken to AH fabrications and my 'cooler is ready to go so Ive paid up and it should be with me tomorrow! It will need a wipe-over though as Adamski has apparently nuzzled it with his knob

Its frikkin awesome to actually drive the thing in and out of the garage at last, cant wait to start ripping up the 1/4 miles with it :D

Bit more progress, brackets for the intercooler are now made up. They're in steel at the mo but might get my mate to make them up in ali to save a bit of weight. Now the ic is mounted I can make a mock up of the boost hose from compressor housing to ic inlet. That will then get sent to Paul @ Roose and he will make up a custom on-off hose. Also got some alloy 90deg bends on order from Viper, when they turn up I'm taking the car to my mates place to get them tig-welded to a lenght of ali pipe to make, plus to make up a new crossover pipe.

brackets look good mate, looks like it needs something in the "spare" fog light holes though, maybe mesh em?

Today I've changed the front lights, added mesh to the morettes and give it a wash! Also made a mockup of the compressor housing to intercooler hose so I can send it off to Roose.

It's finally starting to look like a complete car!
