fezza89 :whats the latest on this?????

Sorry for the late reply

Car is currently in storage but as mine & Nomad's trackcar is likely to be broken for spares I have decided to get some use out of this. I've been thinking about wht it needs to get it track-ready so am planning on the following.

1. Replace the current fuel cell which is too small for track use, either refit a std tank which will need all the brackets underneath replacing or get a cell made up to fit where the back seat is, that will be sunk into it to keep the COG low.

2. Replace the fuel lines with PTFE lined stuff, the current stuff smells of petrol too much.

3. Fit an HO inlet and a larger TB.

4. Install Megafab management, seems the most cost effective way forward to replace the 0FAB.

5. Install front cage.

6. Weld in frame for seat mounts, install second Recaro for passenger.

7. This is a possibility but I have been considering PAS, would like peoples opinions on whether it's worth it or not and what bits I need to get, where to source it from?

Think that's probably it for the moment until I can think of anything else it will need!

Petrol tank and ptfe lines are a good idea, you can get most of the bits from torques uk on eBay. Very good to deal with

Power steering is pretty easy to fit, although you may have to remove the engine to enlarge the hole for the steering column as th grommet is much bigger. All the parts you need can be had off a fiesta si, and the rack is the same as a ka so a new rack would be easy to get hold of. Having driven with both on track, the power steering is much much nicer.

As for inlet you can easily copy what I'm doing, and will give you scope to use bigger/top fed injectors without modifications

There is a complete focus rs inlet on eBay, I suggest getting that, or use a standard focus inlet with mondeo silver top throttle body, and focus rs gasket.

As for megasquirt an ofam ecu would be best, plug and play onto your existing loom and very easy to get setup.

Cheers Brian! How have you done the feed from std tank to swirl pot, what lift pump are you using?

WRT power steering, would it be easier to buy a scrapper Si for all the bits?

Great idea regarding inlet, I've put a bid on it already.

0FAM is what I meant, from these guys? http://www.boostmonkeys.co.uk/index.html

Just using the in tank pump to fill the swirl pot, and the top of the pot goes to the return

That inlet, and injectors are perfect for your spec so hopefully win that one

Yes buy a scrapper, get all the bits you want much easier, then you can also get a template for the hole your cutting. Can then also use the tank and internal pump etc

Ofam from boostmonkeys yes! Plug and play. Get the car running then a couple of hours on the dyno with power engineering as they are a megasquirt friendly mapper and your sorted

Paul, the PAS rack is a superb thing. The weighting is spot on and it's extremely direct. If you decide to go down that route then give me a shout as I'm pretty sure I have a column and other bits.
