Handling open forum - all opinions welcome

Postby XRoriginal on Sun Mar 04, 2007 7:41 pm

Hi all,

Considering renovating the suspension components on my car - and would love some opinions on improving my proposed setup. Btw I have a mk3.5 rs 1800 with 74k on the clock so everything has quite a bit of wear.

-Brake Fluid renew
-ZS rear beam / keep zs drums (above seems mandatory with this)
-New Anti Roll Bar droplinks
-New Ford Lower Arms
-New ford Dampers
-New front top mounts (Ford original)
-eibach springs
-B&m Quick shift
-Powerflex anti roll bar front bushes

Does anyone recommend an alternative brand, leave a certain component (perhaps not cost effective), or additional items.

Thanks - TG in an hour;lovely 8)

Eibach springs are the Daddy if you can get them. With all the work going in I would be inclined to spend the shock cash on a set of Koni top adjustables (don't set them too hard, common mistake). Also may be worth poly bushing things rather than using Ford rubbers. For the top mount rubbers just order a set for a S2 RS Turbo Escort. Also worth adding braided brake hoses.

As Oranoco said go for poly bushes if you want some spirited driving however new OEm parts will really freshen up the car.

Eibach make great springs, often not significantly lower than stock though unless you get the Sportline package.

Excellent - feedback much appreciated. I was considering some more polybush items but I drive the car casually more than I do spirited.

A final question - are these the correct eibachs for my car?

Thank You. Once my car is a bit more presentable I'll put some pics in the members gallery :)

I've forgotten what the Mk3 Fiesta code is, It might be F something. The fact they're mentioning 1.25 makes me wonder if they're not for a Mk4 despite the fact 94 is stated as a build date.

Yeah - that concerned me also - I cross referenced with another site which had 1.1, 1.3 instead of 1.25 and the item code was the same. On the phone the gent was a little unsure and said he would phone eibach to check.

Still if you could find the code (and if its not any bother) that would be excellent :)

Have a nice evening
