haynes modding book, induction kit?
Hi,
The induction kit fitted in the maxpower/haynes book replaces a pannel filter type thing? It looks like its fitting on the same engine as mine, 1.3 mk3.5 engine, hcs I think it is? Yet green filters dont have one on there web site that will fit it?
Any ideas? I really want that sucking "whooooomm" noise

any bolt-on filter will do that, not just green filters. k&n's are available for ur motor, and come with a life time guarentee. ask ur local mod shop for one - aka ripspeed.

Aren't all mk3.5's supposed to have fuel injection? They do around here.
Even if there isn't an induction kit, you can always buy a conical with the diameter you need and adapt it yourself.

Yeah all mk3.5 should have single point injection I think, not sure what it is exactly but sounds half decent

you can get an induction kit for the 1.3 mk3.5 HCS, can't remember the make off the top of my head but can check at work tomorrow if you're interested.
I tried one on mine but it didn't do much.
The problem with the HCS single point injection is that the entrance to the throttle body is vertical and points towards the bonnet (as opposed to horizontal like on the EFI cars) this means that there isn't much room to get a cone and a decent sized pipe there (the induction kit had a kind of flattened pipe going through 90degrees onto the top of the throttle body.
I ended up using a green panel filter (but any other manufacturer is just as good) and cutting the long "nose" off the front of the air box and drilling loads of 1" holes in the sides of the airbox.
It now flows as much air as my meagre cylinder head can suck in.
(its worth using a cold air feed to avoid all the s**t hot air from the exhaust manifold being sucked in as this will cost power.
