Re: hb69's ph1 Zetec S (1/6/12) Actually done something to it!
A few hours with the car, and loads of help from smo this weekend
-Spark plugs done
-HT leads-done
-Auxillary belt-done- actually the easiest belt ive ever been a part of changing, easier than a zetec
-KYB gas shocks front and rear now-done
-Polybushed torque link-done
The only thing we didnt have time to do was the axle spacers, so ill have to try again with those after Ford Fair when ive got a week off work to play around.
By then i may also have the other parts im waiting on, some people know what they are
The only thing possibly pic worthy, aside from smo, is the torque link
Makes things a bit harsher inside, but should be able to handle the punishment maybe a bit better than the standard item, which to be fair didnt look in bad shape.
Only things i plan to do before FF now is put some fuel in it. If it gets a wash it will be at the show on the day, as its raining again

Re: hb69's ph1 Zetec S (28/8/12)Silverstone and other things
I had forgotten to update this, so a few weeks ago i did ford fair with a track session to give it some abuse. The car was rediculously dirty on the day, so didnt take any pics of it. I found some of me and toby on the circuit though
Not bad pictures to be honest.
I had a week off work after that, and had planned to fit the axle spacers but couldnt be bothered. I did however fit a few bits,
firstly a puma interior light i bought back in March then forgot i had it for a while, then found it, and slotted it in
I also got hold of a non-smokers tray, this along with a lighter bung was a £30 optional extra when the car was new. Much more useful than an ashtray imo and quite rare to see as no one bothered with it. CD tray and coin holders
The only other purchase ive made recently is these
Fiesta ST brake calipers, £35, which is nice.Just need to sort some decent discs and pads now.
Good stuff?

After id paid for them someone listed some st170 brakes on zsoc, already modified to fit under 15's with good discs and pads for £80 The only thing that puts me off them is having to drill the hub, and i dont want to do that

The ST brakes provide decent stopping power on the ST, they'll be perfect on the ZS

They were great on Tobys, just trying to find cheap enough discs and pads. Ford are really rather expensive or id have those

I'm running pagid pads with standard ford discs on my st brakes and I can say the pads are really good for stopping
Just thought I would put that random bit of info out there!

Re: hb69's ph1 Zetec S (28/8/12)Silverstone and a few other bits
imm using mintex pads, and (cheapo ebay) Mtec grooved/drilled discs, and the stopping is epic
think its my escort servo doing the hard work though
but the pads seem good for the price, just over £20
ill use mintex when i upgrade to my St170's

So i sold this recently.Got exactly what i paid for it back, so quite happy with that. Enjoyed owning it, managed 4 circuits in it this year, NEVER topped up the oil or needed to and nothing ever broke on it. Just it wasnt quick enough, its replacement is though
