Ain't gonna just be a drop in job as you have the largest compatible engine I know of (but that's not saying much since I know a bit less than not much... ).

Your best bet might be to go for an EFi 1600 CVH lump, to be honest.

Otherwise, how about considering buying a second fezzie???

Mk.2 XR2 engine is a CVH so everything is different, the HCS is similar to the kent found in the Mk.1 XR2 so is more similar, this is a better engine aswell as can be tuned more than the CVH up to around 180BHP I think, getting rare though.....

Mk1 xr2-OHV, carb fed, 1600
Mk2 xr2-cvh, carb fed, 1600

It will be hard to find a decent ohv engine that doesn`t need a full rebuild, cvh you can just find a doner xr2 and take the engine/gearbox and ignition system(coil, distributer etc). Quite easy swap, just drop the lump in and wire up the ignition system, sort the fuel pipes out, and remember the wire on the carb..

I happen to know someone selling a rather nice Mk1 XR2 with the Kent OHV engine in. It's tuned to around 133 bhp, on a normal carb (so it's not too fuel thirsty) and has racing seats, mint 4-spoke alloys with sticky rubber, Leda shocks and springs, and full Ashley system in manifold.

do what i have done and found an escort engine thats a 1.6 cvh and that has the edis module on it - no dizzie!!!

Fits streight in after swappin the drivers side engine mount, alternator bracket and thats bout it on engine.

Then you need to change the rad and pipes to 1.4/1.6 fiesta cvh ones.

Breaks uprated may be a good idea as well!
