Even though I am planning on changing it sometime, does anyone know any reasonably priced mods u can do to a HCS engine?

Mike,

Zorst & K&N for the sound and a bit more nippiness, then look after it with good oil and save for a decent lump or whole new car (I hate engine conversions )

It already is a 1.3 with a Pipercross air filter (K & N did not do one that fitted!!) and a big bore exhaust.
Anything else?

get a welder. then whack in two head gaskets. then use welder to "sort out" some manifolds for a turbo. get it setup to run on about 15psi and you will be laughing. Then 3 months later when it blows up buy a fez turb lump and do it agian but in a bigger way!
