Hi there. Any type of liquid mixing together isn't a good sign. Is the any history of the car having any previous work done to the engine.

Try taking your thermostat out for an inspection, mine kept doing this and then realise te stat had s**t itself inside the housing blocking the flow and this increasing the pressure . Defo worth a check, best thin to do for the head gasket is either have it conpression tested or a dip test. Easy DIY ways are checking oil for mixture check water for same and sniff the header tank for smell of petrol . If you get none of these the engine doesn't smoke and runs fine I highly doubt it will be the gasket to blame. A good inspection of all your water hoses for splits etc will be a good start too.

Agreed to Russ. Also, keep in mind that the hoses may be aged and perished. If you rev it at 2500-3000RPM does the water in the expansion tank rise?I mean it must be,but not too much. Also, check for bubbles in the expansion tank when you rev it.Bubbles are no good sign. Also something last.It is not necessary for the fluids to mix together. There are chances that the hg has blown between the cylinder and the water jacket, not between the oil gallery and water jacket.Although if it didn;t had the time to overheat,I doubt it will blow the hg.Wishing you not to had damage, and just be the aged hoses...
