Lack of coolent, blockage in matrix, busted flaps in the heater box, could be other things depending on what car were talking about

Sounds like an air lock then.
I've always managed to do coolent without any issues, but last time I done my rs it got an air lock and I could not shift it for love not money, popped the rad hose and drained it into container, and started again, squeezing top rad hose, cupping
Mouth over header and pressurising it over and over till it was full (which is normally what I do) and it was sorted.

So I would try doing what ya can to get the air lock out, or drain it and try again, you could pop the hose off the stat housing from matrix and drain it till it stops, put hose back on, too up and try that, as that should get the air lock out the matrix
