Hi,
First stage is a chip and a boost upgrade.

A free flow filetr in the AIRBOX will be a good help.

Sort the exhaust too but its not a massive issue at stage 1 and will shorten the life of a standard turbocharger.

After that she gets more involved and conversely... expensive!

Best Regards,
Stu

Stu,

Please explain why you say changing the exhaust will shorten the life of a standard turbo. My engine still has a standard turbo and has done 92,000 miles, 34,000 of those with a magnex exhaust. The turbo is still boosting well holding 12-13psi for the last 10,000.

Stephen

Hi,
Its often an issue of the poorly designed T2 rear seal as the seal is obviously a differential pressure oil seal and as such requires a good differential pressure.

This is one of the reasons that the Fiesta T2 turbocharger has such a renowned problem with rear oil seal failure.

The 2nd reason is the standard oil return pipe cannt flow enough return oil and as a result the core pressure is higher than ideal and again, this leads to the need for an even bigger turbine housing pressure to obtain the required differential pressure to maintain oil on the correct side of the seal.

You have been lucky it appears, im sure hundreds of others on here havent ;)

I hope this helps to answer your question.

Best Regards,
Stu

I beat that trend as well, with 140k and original T2 hitting 1.2bar! :o and i have had several exhausts with my latest one being a Mongoose.
