help needed! urgent, just failed MOT

Postby chop_suey on Fri Mar 05, 2004 12:19 am

ok, i've just failed my MOT, which i expected but 1 of the things that need fixing is the wheels rub the inside arches on full lock. i remember some1 saying that you can put clips on the steering somewhere and it will limit your full lock to something acceptable.

could some1 pls give me more info on this, with a pic if possible as i really need to get this done asap

I have some 5mm spacers that will be coming off on the 23rd. If they stop the rubbing, they'll be surplus and up for sale if that's any use. Two weeks' time though, so might be no use.

easy one this dude.

slide the boot of ya steering rack were it joins ya track rod end, get a thin junille clip and clamp it round the end. put ya boot cover back on and there ya go, when ya turn the wheel the clip will stop ya track controll arm goin all the way.

BUT YOU DO LOOSE FULL LOCK!!!!

and it can be annoying to say the least. go fro some steelies then chuck em back on much simpler, lol

HTH

Is your car lowered at all? If so you mite have to put original springs back on for the test then jus swap em back when you pass :)

can't really use spacers, tyres are wide enough as it it is 7.5 i think, yeah its lowered 60, i think i'll just put the steelies back on. i may put some clips on the steering rack though as i dot mind loosing full lock. everytime i use it i shred another cm off the tyre!

thx for the replys
