i have a 1.3 fiesta and want to change the engine for something better. what would best to put in ??

If you are running a carburettor, the simplest step would be a 1.6 carb CVH engine. That way you keep your existing fuel tank. Growing in popularity though, is the Zetec conversion, up to as much as 2.0 litres. They came with a 1.6 and 1.8 as standard in the Mk 3, so it will be fairly straigh forward to fit either of those, as long as you can source a decent donor car for the necessary components and bracketry/loomwork etc.

as above, in terms of ease, just for some extra punch, just get a shoddy old si with a decent engine and swap all the bits over.

a 2litre conversion is a bit more work but u do get around 40bhp more than the 90bhp of a 1.6si.
