If its not injecting, and not sparking then Id say the problem sounds ECU or wiring related. Since you mention having 'dodgey' wiring id suspect that mate - Try and tidy it up or at least make sure its not earthing out and everything is connected.

No fuel and no spark I would start by changing the Crank Position Sensor. Your symptoms are classic of that given when it goes down

Ooo :o Did you compare the two sensors and did you try a brand new one?

Something doesn't sound right though mate and after the CPS there isn't much I can think of without looking properly and I'm a bit far to offer or I would :(

I can fudge my way about with a Zetec. Better with the old CVH in all honesty. Got a mate clued up though so will drop him a line and see if he has any suggestions.

I've got to go to Ikea anyway to look at Kitchens :( She's only having a cheap one as I want to finish my Fiesta

Right, had a quick natter and he straight away went for CPS but as you have tried this he has suggested you try cleaning up the earths for the ECU. After that you are really fishing about in the dark.

Might be worth getting a Gunsons fault finder for £30 from a motorfactors and see what fault codes it brings up.

HTH :)
