Help with amplifiers....

Postby wakeboardtom on Tue Oct 17, 2006 4:46 pm

Right ive got two possible sub set ups which i am going to get. Which is either:-
- 2x 12" Sub (Alpine)
- 2 x 15" Sub ( )

So can you guys please give me an idea as to which Amplifier would be best for me 2 get for both the 2 12" subs and which sub would be best for "15 subs.
Any help would be appreciated, my budget is £200. Could go on ebay...

The two 15" subs are now 750rms, not 500rms like they used to be (i have the older ones) The 12" subs are 500rms each and rock. If you look in the back of a car mag, you should find the deal i was on about for the two 12" subs for £150. You will strugle to find the 15" subbb for £200,yet alone two of them. Also,12's are alot esier to place.

As for amps, you'll be wanting one capable of producing over 1kw rms, and able to run at 1 ohm. Halfords (or atleas my one does) sell a vibe amp for £200 which produces 1200rms i think, and this would be the one to go for, if on a budget, and is what i would get. As for wiring kit, i'd recoment looking on ebay and just getting a 0ag kit, as this will be more than enough for you, and will leave you to be able to upgrade in future. You could also sell the box that comes with the subs for like £30.

So i recon for about £400 for everything needed, you would have alot of bass for the money.
