help with zetec dipstick??? Somethings not right?
ok i was just messing with my engine eirlier, it was dummy built so i stripped it all off as i still need to do the sump, not ideal to have it covered in crap when i need to tip it upsite down and stuff..
while it was bare, i found a bolt and fitted up the dipstick pipe, pushed it into the block, bolted (and had to bend it about a little) the the bracket to the head to secure it..
now it looks right, but the dipstick crosses over the 1st exhaust port.
i dont think it will fit with the exhaust manifold on, i dont have the manifold here so i cant test it yet..
does anyone have any pictures of the dipstick on an engine with the manifold in place, so i can see how its suppose to go together..
i remember bending the pipe quite a lot for odd reasons in the past. i think i may have changed the shape to much.
ill post a pic in a bit
thanks

Right ive had a butchers thought all of my pics.. its quite a big collection for 2 years lol..
it seems, and i can sorta remember when i took it off the 1.6 engine, that the pipe doesent bolt up flush to the head, i think i can recal a spacer, then logicaly it would be the bracket for the dipstick pipe, then another spacer, and finaly the pas pipe bracket with a nut on top, this i think brings the pipe out far enough to clear the exhaust manifold.
I think there should normaly be a stud for this, being the 2.0 there wont be.. but i havent seen the stud lying around with my bolts.
if anyone can still shed any light tomorow that would be cool.
thanks
