Help - Zetec Throttle Bodies
Need a fav off of you 16v zetec owners. (especially RS1800 owners)
Can you take a pic of your throttle body like this:
It would be very much appreciated.

i think them bits r the same on the 16v 2i as the si but on the rs1800 u have a biger opening

mine is not like that, the inlet is bigger, and the sensor is round the other war (the clip on bit faces other way) and it s a 2L zetec

yep i think the opening is the same but on the 2L the throtle cable mount is a different way so is the sensor thing [ERRR] it lays down on a mondeo im sure thats the dif

well my 2L tb has the clip facing the other way, then i had to change the mech over from the 1.6 tb i had over to my 2l one as the mech for the 2l was plastic, and didnt fit properly!
in that photo the TB looks like a 1.6 one but it may just be the photo!

yeah ive got a 1.8 one from a mondeo and the mech is plastic and a dif way round with it being mounted dif on the mondeo but the opening is the same as my 1.6

why did you want to know? u can fit the 2L throttle bodie by swapping bits over, anoyying mut it can be done

this might not help too much, but...
a 2l mondeo TB has a larger butterfly valve than that, (i.e. the inlet doesnt narrow on mine),
you can also keep the plastic mech bit rather than swap the 1.6l one over, just mod it slightly (cut little useless nobbly bit off from the rhs ) and check it doesnt obstruct hoses behind it. I found it had a much stronger spring than the 1.6l TB
i made my own throttle cable mounting bracket, i've got a pic but need to get it developed first

My car ran quite differently with the 2,0 and RS1800 throttle body.

Martin (MK) got it off ML Developments as a RS1800 tb, and it came with the RS1800 ecu thats running my car... :s
