Hi all.

Just bought this project in pieces and thought I'd join up and start a build thread

Already had a good look round and found a few threads that have helped my plan of action!

Yeah had my fair share of rusty fords, fancied something fairly solid to work with.

I was wanting something light and fairly quick as it's going to be a track/weekend toy so will probably keep it fairly well stripped and looking at around 200 brake.

Managed to get the starter spinning and had 170-175 psi per cylinder, obviously cold test, so hopefully the engine will be solid too

Now then.

Not updated this, suppose it's time to!!!

Aye, got on xrtwo thanks, got a bit of help from there with things.

The car looked in really good nick but underneath was a different story altogether :o

Took a couple of months to get the engine loom wired in, swirl pot and fuel pumps sorted, all the engine bay plumbed in and the exhaust made.

When I finally got the car running it ran like a pig and wouldn't rev, tried allsorts also at that time found loads of rot underneath that had been hidden with underseal and where the last owner had cut the rear arches with a grinder they'd cut through the car loom :aaah: at that point I gave up for a few weeks.

Should have got pics but the worst bit was one of the chassis legs once I'd poked it hard. It was not attached to the floorpan for about 3 inches and you could see straight through :o

Got back on it last month and got it running better. It still cuts out once there's any boost but I can't really sort that till I'm able to drive it legally.

Well, got the fez MOT'd, the emissions were overlooked as he couldn't get them down. Drove fine till I got close to positive pressure then it just cut out and shut down.

Have been fettling for a couple of weeks and in the end bought a complete ofab set up to try and cure it.

This is why I love old cars, 25 mins to completely strip the dash!!

Rewired in the replacement loom and hey presto, it runs properly!! f**k me It's been a hard couple of months trying to sort it!!

Been a hectic few months with having a new addition to the family but been able to have a few days on the fez this last couple of weeks! Got my Beige's in, aem wideband and snap off steering wheel fitted. Engine mount filled with tiger seal as the alternator was grinding against the tie bar when reversing (quite am embarrassing noise!). As of today am halfway through fitting a proper injection tank as the smell from the swirl pot in the boot was doing my head in! And got a racetech rev counter on its way!
