Hmmm - 20psi out of a T2.

CVH and Zetec tuning, suspension and braking mods.

Just pottering to work this morning in the beast and I must've had a slight air leak in my boost control hoses 'cause when I nailed it by boost shot up to 20psi and (get this) held it!Until I noticed and let off the gas for fear of my pistons, that is!

Now, correct me if I'm wrong but aren't T2's only mean't to be able to boost up to about 14-16psi? Mine's got a 360 deg TB if that would make any difference...

I was told from Turboshop (people who built my T2 Hybrid) that it could reliably run 23psi, of course it would not last as long as running 13psi, but thats obvious..

It can very reliably run 19psi on a T2 HYBRID, but engine mods should be made to compensate and last for power and boost..

All fair points...

Just means that when I get me new engine in the summer, I don't think I'll be upgrading to a T3 as soon as I thought I would!

Any turbo will keep on boosting until either the waste gate opens or it spins itself to the maximum, which aint good
A T2 will probably hit 20psi but not for long.

spot on scottie
Do you have any idea what 178.8mph feels like in a Fiesta? 2000 lb of pressure per square inch per second pushing back on your face. It feels like god himself is trying to rip the skin off your skull while someone lands a 747 on your chest.

Don't forget that with more boost comes hotter temperatures (under bonnet and charge air) so you'll need better cooling all round to avoid instant detonation!
