Holes in ya Bonnet?? wtf??
23 posts • Page 1 of 1
As you can see in my signiture ive had a EVO V vent fitted which has left me with two gaping holes in my bonnet.
Im in the process of deciding which mesh to put in and how to make it look right, but....
even after the mesh is fitted im still gonna get water in my engine, so what can i put underneath it to catch the water and drain it to dribble else where. [ERRR] at the moment the holes are above the dizzy and rocker.
water is getting into my oil through my rocker gasget!!
sum1 has to have had the same problem on here yeah? Help us out chaps, [ERRR] i carnt afford an oil change ever week

Ummm, assuming you understand the basic principle of a "g-a-s-k-e-t" (sorry being a sarcastic git'cos I'm tired) it shouldn't be the cause of your water in the engine bay.
My Evo scoop hasn't caused a single problem 'cos everything is serviced and properly sealed, including my 16 year old diz which is under the RHS hole
Wouldn't worry mate - try and find out if your head gasket's gone though

my animal bumper costs £160, but its a bugger to fit i'll tell ya. well worth it though, its lookin better now. [ERRR] be sprayed at end of da month.
btw, custom groups web site is down at the mo. If ya want any info in the meantime, give em a call on 01263 768824. (tell them you saw it on `PhatFiesta.com` & they'll know [ERRR] ur on about

whats up steve? u've dissed Peugeot on this post and another one of mine in `tuning`.
You don't like them?
Most of the technitions at my work have worked at many other dealerships, VW, Vaux, Ford & Toyota. So i think that they can manage putting in a CVH. Plus all of my parts were genuine Ford, as i get them at cost+5%
I did some work myself, thats where the problem is. ive obviously buggered sumthin up sumwhere.
No im not leaking oil from my rocker gasget so i assume im not getting water in that way.

Not trying to say owt but......
Me dad used to have a 405 grdt (from new!)and it started using water. He took it to peugeot dealership and they said "Umm, dont understand will check" then after a couple of hours (and more than a few quid) they said they found the leak and sorted it out.
This went on for SEVERAL months and eventually the cylinder head went. The gasket had been fecked all the time and the solution had never occurred to the so-called experts at this particular peugeot garage.
The engine was subject to so much damage that they ended up replacing it at a cost of just over 3K !
Just to prove what a set on bloody monkeys they were they also managed to destroy one of the sensors on the engine when they fitted it so it wouldn't run properly and the rev counter didn't work. He only found this out by taking it to another peugeot dealership....
He later found certain batches of the engine were prone to premature failure of the cylinder head gasket. This was a known fault and should have been the first port of call if there was water going missing and no obvious leaks.
Part of the reason for the poor running of the engine was the lack of the sensor. This would have been spotted immediately had they plugged it into a diagnostic computer.
The engine was (allegedly) incorrectly set up - hence the blue arrows effect when the turbo cut in !!
Kinda put me off peugeots for life I'm afraid.....

My girlfriend went to the Pug garage in Coalville today. First he told her that her tyres were the wrong size (i KNOW this to be untrue) and then quoted £50 labour for the first hour, £35 for every hour after that to fix a broken light behind the speedo.

SpOOny>>> i didnt tell her that her tyres were the wrong size i said that 195/50/15 would be better for the 205 thats all.
She said that she had no lights on the dash at all, only her warning lights. The 205 suffered from a dodgy fuse box and a lot were replaced [ERRR] that was the only cause
We charge £50+vat for the 1st hour and £45+vat for every hour after that, standard labour. Sounds a lot but these guys know pugs through and through. Plus how else can they aford to pay my wages!!!
btw - my fester was up at `express fit` so she may have seen it
TELL HER TO CUM BACK IN AND ASK 4 ME (ANDI, THE ONE SHE SPOKE TO) AND ILL GET ONE OF THE CHAPS OUT TO LOOK AT IT 4 NOTHIN. JUST LOOK AT IT MIND!!!

No way! Never thought it'd be you!
Re: Tyre sizes. Yeah a lot of people put 195/50 on cos they're cheaper, but 185/55 is the size 1.9 GTi's came out the factory on so thats what we went with. (AND £25 a piece brand new!).
Re: The dash lights. All that ain't workin is the illumination behind the speedo/revcounter, heater controls, and fag lighter. I don't reckon its important/difficult enough to pay that much (no offence).
Not havin a go mate, just a few wires crossed here and there!
I came into the parts section last saturday to ask about a smooth tailgate panel for her 205, was it you i spoke to????

No mate, i've got an Si. Yeah, i know what you mean about labour charges at dealerships mate.
About that tailgate panel, very late 205's have them, like M reg's. They don't have that gay ridged plastic panel that the badges are on. Can you find out mate, she wants one and christmas is coming (easy brownie points).
She did see your car by the way but she don't pay too much attention to non-pugs .
The tyres came from Russells scrap yard in Ellistown, only needed 1 but for £100 a set.... Oh, and she lives in Ashby, i'm in Oakthorpe.
Don't suppose you go to Passion do ya (@ the Emporium)? I'll be there next saturday - Roger Sanchez!

Yeah, went to Passion all the time in 99 and first half of last year, including New Years Eve 98, and 99. The place has died this year from what i've been told. I'm a red-roomer, and they keep closing it half-way through the night these days cos the blue room's empty.
Not so this saturday though, Sanchez will fill the place! You goin?
Wooly: Storm's good too, all-nighters are wicked. Can't bosh to hard house too much though, gettin old!

hi andy old m8, ur fezzy sure look phatter as days goes by. Dun know if this helps, but in Evo n Sub, the scoop is place above the intercooler. That way, it helps to cool down the engine better. In Evo 4-7, there's a plate that goes beneath e scoop. But there's no pros thus far with that plate remove n it looks when u spend 20k underneath e bonnet.
