Homemade coilovers yo...
well after trying and failing at finding some coilovers for my mk3.5 fiesta I was thinking about trying to make some myself. I have seen some people do this on youtube and was wandering what I would need and what to do?
I know it is quite a specialized thing/area but any info would be great on how to build them up.
Thanks, Ben

I feel your pain mate mk 3.5 fronts are not easy to get ,iv heard people that shim them but to me its just not safe but if you could get an ally one made to slip in the hub and then put the smaller mk3 coily in that might be a safe option ,,
iv asked a few places about here but no one wants the hassle for 2 bushes/shims ,,I reckon if u could find someone to do it then people would be intrested I would

Re: Homemade coilovers yo...
well i have seen some people fully make their own coilovers. A lot of people with jap cars do it because there are only reeeeaaaaally expensive coilovers on offer/
they use the original strut housing and shorten it (cut a small part out and then re-weld)
Then get a shorter damper and use that.
Get some adjusters and springs (these can be brought from some rally specialists).
Then weld the adjusters on, put the spring on and use the top mounts and bushes.
This then effectively gives you a coilover for not a lot of money if you can weld.
What I was wandering was whether this was possible and whether there would be any people that were willing to take it on for me as well if I provided the parts?
Thanks, Ben
