How can i make my car sound good?

Postby viagramonius on Sat Aug 06, 2005 3:18 pm

Hi everyone this is my first post on here, i was hoping that somebody could tell me whether its possible to do something to my car that will make the engine sound a little beefier or sportier without speding too much money, i dont know that much about modding cars at all but my car is a 1994 fiesta equipe 1.3 (carburetor) and i've heard that performance air filters etc will not work with cars like mine. Can anyone shed some light on the this for me?

Any suggestions would be v. appreciated

Cheers :D

k&n filter (panel filter not a cone) and a bigger exhaust works well. makes your car feel more responsive too. also, buy 2nd hand, as long as it's in good condition it'll work fine.

oh, and welcome to the site, we'll make you feel right at home

cheers . . . i looked on the K&N website and used the search via car model thingy, and this is the filter that comes recommended for my car:

http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=E-9090

am i right in assuming that this is not the type of filter you were talking about?

also, how much would a failry decent exhaust cost and do you think these small mods affect my insurance?

ta :Q

viagramonius :1994 fiesta equipe 1.3 (carburetor)

1994 Fiesta Equipe 1300 will be a CFI. Unless you or somebody else has put the older engine in.
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

Agreed as above :D

But if you really wanna keep the HCS then as max said just dril the airbox out or buy a K&N filter, will make it roar a bit more on acceleration. might knock .1s off your 0-60 aswell :D
